Emergency Planning: Beyond the Fire Exit
October 21, 2025
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Topic: Emergency Planning: Beyond the Fire Exit
Presentation: The saying “everyone loves the firefighter but hates the fire marshal” reflects a cultural mindset we must work to shift. Prevention and planning are essential to mitigating workplace risks. This presentation explores a broad range of strategies for both prevention and emergency response, helping you either avoid the next crisis or be fully prepared to manage it, while minimizing its impact on your organization.
We’ll cover key topics including training, risk assessment, emergency evacuation planning for diverse workforces, fire protection systems, alarms, and designated areas of rescue. The session is interactive and engaging, featuring activities such as “the hot seat,” where participants share experiences and learn collaboratively how to better handle emergencies.
Dan’s presentation builds on previous sessions, including Taking the Panic Out of Your Next Crisis and From Panic to Preparedness: Tackling the Overlooked Safety Issues That Matter Most.” We’ll address both technical systems and current social dynamics that can complicate efforts to make the workplace the safest part of your employees’ day.
